Darlinghurst Gaol looms bleak and grey, nearby terrace
houses are paint-peeling and poor. The gusty wind tugs at
the coats of three men as they stand on the corner of
Stanley Street, Sydney. It is 1973 and Cec Little, Ron
Briggs and Brian Gesling are discussing the possibility of
forming a Christian book sellers' group. The specialist
booksellers have been a part of the Australian Booksellers
Association for ten years and now they believe it is time to
become independent. As a result of these discussions the
first Convention organised by the Religious Booksellers
Group was held in 1974 at the Maccabean Hall, Darlinghurst,
